Donvale Youth Group

We meet this Friday Nov 25 at 7.30 pm to study the parable of The Lost Sheep. For more details about the Youth Group, please speak to Cameron.

Portarlington Beach Mission

The Scripture Union Beach Mission urgently requires people to join their team this summer between 27/12 – 5/1 at Portarlington. If you are available, or know someone who is, please speak to Ben or Jean asap. Please pray for helpers & preparations.

LINC Pantry

In urgent need of replenishment of these: 
cereal, flour, sugar, milo, coffee, spreads, tinned fish, tinned fruit, cooking oil, fruit juice (not cordial), tomato sauce, snacks, laundry detergent, soap, tissues. No pasta, pasta sauce or toothpaste, please. Thanks for your support.

  • to know God's grace, help, presence and provision.
  • to persevere in trusting God in the face of trials.

  • for God to grow His church through their witness

From The Elders

At the elders retreat in August, we discussed what we believe should be the core values of DPC. We wish to communicate this to the congregation, and will speak more about it at our AGM this Thursday Oct 27. We would like to have your feedback, and urge you to be present at the meeting. We have inserted in the newsletter this week, a paper on what we decided at the meeting. Please read it.

New recommended book—"Stealing from a Child: The injustice of marriage equality" by David Van Gend, informs us about why the push for gay marriage is not helpful for children and society. Check it out at our library.

Donvale Youth Group

If you are high-school age, join us at DYG for our new “Weekly Friday Night” from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Come along and have great fellowship with your fellow youth and leaders as we explore what Jesus preached through His parables. This Friday Oct 21 we will be looking at  “The Good Samaritan”. Morning Services

Cameron Griffiths will bring us God’s Word from Psalm 40, “Out of the mud and into the choir”. 

We extend a warm welcome to family and friends of Nancy Tan who are here to witness her baptism at the 10.30 am service. Nancy is involved with our ESL ministry. Pray that God will continue to deepen her faith.

Sunday School recommences today. Pray for the children and teachers as they start a new term.

Operation Christmas Child

We dropped 136 Christmas Boxes into Samaritans Purse this week. Thank you to all those involved in this amazing ministry. Please continue to pray for the children who will receive them. Morning Services: Cameron Griffiths will bring us the message from Philippians 1, “Winning at Life”.

At the 8.30 am service we have an adult baptism (John Luo), followed by an infant baptism (Joshua, son of John and Grace). We welcome their family and friends who are here to witness their baptisms.

At the 10.30 am service, we also extend a warm welcome to family and friends of Matt and Kathryn Pennycuick who are with us to witness the baptism of their son, Edward.

Invitation to Daniel Dixon's ordination and induction: Daniel and Melissa used to attend DPC. At 2.30pm on Sat 24th Sept Daniel will be ordained as a Minister and inducted as the pastor at Williamstown Presbyterian Church. The service will be held there at 87 Cecil Street, Williamstown. All are invited to attend and stay for the following afternoon tea.
