Rev Gerald Vanderwert

Gerald has been senior pastor at Donvale since 1989. He obtained his theological degree through study at the Presbyterian Theological College in Melbourne. He is also a graduate of Melbourne School of Theology (formerly MBI) where he completed a diploma in Theology.

He loves teaching the scriptures and enjoys ministering to all age groups. His recreational interests lie in cricket, football and jogging. He is married to Desma, and they have a daughter and son-in-law.


Rev Jordan Born

Jordan is our assistant pastor. He and his family come to us from Calgary, Canada. He and his wife, Janelle, have two children- Naomi and Caleb.

He completed his Master's of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida, USA, and his BA in Humanities at the University of Lethbridge, Canada.

Some of Jordan's favourite books include "Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God" by J.I. Packer, "The Doctrines of Grace: Recovering the Evangelical Gospel" by James Montgomery Boice, and Bonhoeffer's "The Cost of Discipleship".

Rev Dr Tony Bird

Tony, who is married to Carole, started at Donvale in 1998 and serves as part-time Pastoral Assistant.

He spent seven years with Overseas Missionary Fellowship from 1979 to 1986 before coming to Australia.

Tony has four adult children, enjoys running and is an insatiable reader.


Mrs Leanne Pell

Leanne has been serving in the role as Women's Pastoral Worker since 2012 and is passionate about walking alongside women and encouraging them in their faith.

Leanne is married to David and they have three adult children.  She enjoys walking, reading, and spending time with the family including her little grandchildren.

Rev Dr Felix Chung

Felix is a minister of the Presbyterian church and works full time at the Presbyterian Theological College. He is Coordinator of Supervised Learning Experience, and Lecturer in Missiology and Research Methods at the college.

Felix and Mei have served as pastor and missionary since 1990 in Hong Kong and Taiwan. They moved to Australia in 2000 and serve as the guest preachers of different Chinese Churches in Melbourne since 2001. 

Felix enjoys coffee and spending time with his wife Mei. They have an adult son Joseph.
