Sermons at Donvale
God speaks, we listen, learn, and follow. We believe the Bible is more than an ancient text; it is God's living word that reveals God's character and will. At Donvale, we don't just pick and choose the parts we like. Instead, we journey through books of the Bible chapter by chapter to discover a unified story of redemption—Jesus being central to that story. Every sermon aims to show how Jesus answers our deepest questions and what it looks like to live in light of his grace today.
Torah
"Torah" is the Hebrew title for the first five books of the Bible, also known as the Pentateuch.
From creation to the crossing of the sea, meeting the God who rescues, speaks, and leads His people toward His promised rest.
Historical Books
Books narrating the history of Israel from their entry into the Promised Land down to the return from the Babylonian exile.
From the time of the Judges to the exile and return, tracing the rise and fall of kings and the faithfulness of God to His covenant.
Wisdom & Poetry
Five books exploring the questions of life, worship, wisdom, and love.
From the heights of praise to the depths of sorrow, seeking the fear of the Lord as the beginning of wisdom.
Prophets
The Prophets record God's word through His messengers, calling His people back to covenant faithfulness and pointing forward to Christ.
Isaiah to Malachi: including Lamentations (with Jeremiah), Daniel, and the so-called "Minor Prophets" — minor only because their books are shorter, not their message.
Gospels
Four Spirit-inspired portraits of the one Lord Jesus Christ — His life, death, and resurrection for our salvation.
From Bethlehem to the empty tomb, seeing the promised King, suffering Servant, and risen Lord who fulfils the Law and the Prophets.
Acts & Paul
The continuing work of Jesus by His Spirit through the Church, spreading the gospel from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth.
The history of the early mission and the letters that shaped their faith, life, and witness in the grace of Christ.
Epistles & Revelation
Letters to the dispersed church calling for endurance, and the final vision of Christ's victory and the New Creation.
From the superiority of Christ in Hebrews to the wedding feast of the Lamb in Revelation: encouragement for the pilgrim church.
