December 18

Morning service

Rev Gerald Vanderwert will bring us God’s Word from Luke 1, “Divinity breaks into history”.

At the 10.30 am service, we extend a warm welcome to family and friends of Winnie who are here to witness her baptism. We rejoice with Winnie and pray that she will continue to grow in her faith and love for the Lord.

Sunday School is now in recess for the school holidays.

Chinese service

Rev Clinton Le Page will preach on Matthew 2, the visit of the Magi.

Evening service

Robert Koh will bring us the message from Luke 1, “Accept God’s favour—the birth of the Son”.

Christmas Doorknocking

We are doorknocking in the neighbourhood today from 4 pm to 6 pm to distribute Christmas tracts and invite people to our Christmas events.  If you are able to, please come along.

December 11

Morning service

This is a Special Service with items from the pre-schoolers to Grade 3, Sunday School choir leading the carols, book presentation & Year 6 Graduation, and bible readings.

Cameron Griffiths will bring us God’s Word from Luke 2, “An unexpected Christmas”.

We thank the Sunday School for their magnificent efforts and enthusiasm, Liz (Sunday School Coordinator) and teachers. Pray for the children to know our Lord and to grow in love and faith.

Gerry Drew will preach on Luke 2, the birth of Jesus and the visit of shepherds.

Evening service

Cameron Griffiths is being licenced by the presbytery to preach the Gospel and pastor the congregation at Croydon Hills PC in 2017. Please come & support Cameron by your attendance.

DYG feasts this Friday

Come and join us for a feast and chill night this Friday as we

Prayer

Praise God for providing helpers for the Portarlington Beach Mission. Pray for Ben & Jean as they lead a team. Pray for their preparations, and that many will be blessed through this ministry.

Angel Tree

Touching the children of prisoners with the love of Christ at Christmas by
providing them with gifts. If you would like to be involved in this ministry, please place your gifts in the foyer by next Sunday Dec 4. Questions? See Chris.

Portarlington Beach Mission

The Scripture Union Beach Mission urgently requires people to join their team this summer between 27/12 – 5/1 at Portarlington. If you are available, or know someone who is, please speak to Ben or Jean asap. Please pray for helpers & preparations.

From The Elders

At the elders retreat in August, we discussed what we believe should be the core values of DPC. We wish to communicate this to the congregation, and will speak more about it at our AGM this Thursday Oct 27. We would like to have your feedback, and urge you to be present at the meeting. We have inserted in the newsletter this week, a paper on what we decided at the meeting. Please read it.

We extend a warm welcome to family and friends of Nancy Tan who are here to witness her baptism at the 10.30 am service. Nancy is involved with our ESL ministry. Pray that God will continue to deepen her faith.

Operation Christmas Child

We dropped 136 Christmas Boxes into Samaritans Purse this week. Thank you to all those involved in this amazing ministry. Please continue to pray for the children who will receive them.
