ESL Ministry

ESL Classes will finish this week 19th Sept for this term. Term 4 classes will recommence 10th Oct @ 7pm.  It will be normal classes, and then a Christmas dinner celebration on the 5th Dec.
Those wishing to be involved next year as teachers or helpers, please contact Noelle.

Coins for Missions

This is administered by the APWM Committee. In recent months, they have distributed nearly $13,000 in emergency funds to some missionaries to meet needs not covered by their normal budgets such as replacing laptops, emergency dental needs, schooling needs, emergency medical evacuation.

If you would like to support them, in addition to the regular giving to the
Mission funds, please place your gift in the Coins for Missions box located in the church hall.

LinC

Supporting those in need in our community. Current needs are: laundry powder or liquid, cooking oil, pasta sauce, dish-washing liquid, cake mix, sweet biscuits, toilet rolls, sugar, tinned tomato, hand wash & personal hygiene items.

Sunday School Classes

Today is a ‘non-curriculum’ Sunday and we will be doing something special for Father’s Day. This topic is not part of the usual curriculum and parents, you are welcome (as you are every week) to keep your children with you in the service if you prefer.

Rev Richard Coombs will share at our Mission Spot and also bring us God’s Word from Jeremiah 8 & 9, “Listen to the Weeping Prophet”.

Following the morning services, we will have a special morning tea together. Please join us.

Evening service

This evening we are having a Special Youth Service. The young people will be involved in leading and serving. Robert Koh will bring us the message from Proverbs 9, “Who will you go home
with tonight?”

SNAC (Sunday Night After Church) - Join us right after the evening service for a meal or cuppa
at the Donvale La Porchetta.

Reformation Day - 31st October

To mark the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, the October sermons will focus on the five themes of the Reformation:

  • Sola Scriptura—Scripture alone
  • Sola Gratia—Grace alone
  • Sola Fide—Faith alone
  • Solus Christus—Christ alone
  • Soli Deo Gloria— To Glory of God alone

This is a good opportunity for you to invite your non-Christian friends to church to hear the gospel. Pray for people you can invite.

Salt and Light Mission

A Christian ministry to homeless people in Melbourne is in need of warm clothes (especially for men) and blankets. Donated items can be left in the box in the hall. Questions? Please speak to Heather. Thank you!

Lord's Supper

DPC Morning Services will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper next Sunday August 6.

Church Debt Reduction Suday

The Board of Management thank God and the congregation for the gifts totalling $7,785.00 for the reduction of the Church’s Debt. Envelopes are still available in the foyer if you would like to contribute to this Special offering for this year.

Coins For Missions

If we could drop a $2 coin each week into the Coins for Mission box (located in the church hall), this will go a long way in meeting the urgent needs of missionaries. Note, this giving is in addition to the regular giving to the Mission.

Lost Property

There is a pile of lost items in the Lost Property Box in the church hall, near the piano. Please check this out. All unclaimed items will be donated to the op shop. Please check as soon as possible as we will be donating unclaimed items soon.

Storage Room

We are tidying up the storage room (in Cameron’s old office). If there is anything of yours stored there, please advise Jim, if it is still needed for future use. Appreciate your assistance in helping with this clean up project.

Duty Roster

The new duty roster is out. A big thank you to the team of wonderful helpers . More helpers required for morning tea and welcoming. If you can help even on a “stand-by” basis, please email the office.

Greece Study Tour in May 2018

If you are interested to join the study tour led by Gerald to Greece in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul, with an optional extension to Malta from 5th—20th May (25th May) 2018, please contact Gerald.

Salt and Light Mission

to the homeless in the city is in urgent need of the following for adults: Warm coats and jackets, warm hats, scarves, thermals, shoes -runners, boots or walking shoes, blankets, doonas, heavy duty carry bags, canvas bags or thick plastic bags (to replace thin plastic shopping bags currently used by some to hold their belongings). If you can help, please place donations in a carry bag and give to Heather at 10.30 am service or leave in a clearly marked bag near the piano in the hall. Thank you!
